"Celebrating 40 Years" Event
This year marks The Breakfast Group’s 40th Anniversary. A “Celebrating 40 Years” fundraising and celebration dinner is scheduled for tomorrow - Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at the Olympic Fairmont Hotel in the Spanish Ballroom .
Over the past 40 years, the Breakfast Group has endeavored to create and sustain positive impacts in transforming the lives of young men of color, and their families, in this community through Education, Mentoring, Advocacy, and Access to Economic and Business Development Resources. It is our pleasure, and privilege, to celebrate that ongoing effort, and commitment to those we serve.
Our “Celebrating 40 Years” Keynote Speaker will be Kimberly Papillon, Esq. Mrs. Papillon is a nationally recognized expert on the subject of decision-making in law, education, business and medicine. She has served as regular faculty at the National Judicial College since 2005. She has delivered over 100 lectures nationally and internationally on the implications of neuroscience, psychology and implicit association in the analysis of decision-making in the fields of business,
medicine, education, equal employment opportunities and the law.
Among our special guests confirmed to be in attendance are: Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, King County Executive Dow Constantine, Seattle Superintendent of Public Schools Larry Nyland, and Alaska Airlines CEO Bradley D. Tilden. Also confirmed to attend are Seattle College Presidents representing; North Seattle College - Dr. Warren Brown, Seattle Central College - Sheila Edwards Lange, Ph.D., South Seattle College - Dr. Gary Oertli, The Seattle Colleges Chancellor - Dr. Shouan Pan; and Elected Officials (State, County and City), as well as special guests from the Seattle Seahawks.
